Tournament operator PGL has revealed details for the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 championship in Kazakhstan. PGL Astana 2026 will take place from May 7 to 17, featuring 16 top-tier teams competing for an impressive $1.6 million prize pool.
Who is heading to Astana? Currently, 12 invited teams have been confirmed. Among the favorites are Team Spirit, G2 Esports, and MOUZ. The full list of confirmed participants:
- CIS: Team Spirit, PARIVISION, Aurora Gaming, Monte.
- Europe: G2 Esports, MOUZ, HEROIC, Gentle Mates.
- Other Regions: Team Falcons, The MongolZ, FURIA Esports, FUT Esports.
Note: The final four slots will be determined through regional qualifiers scheduled for late March and early April 2026.
Scheduling Conflicts: IEM Atlanta 2026 The biggest surprise is the absence of Team Vitality. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut's squad will skip the event in Kazakhstan due to a date overlap with IEM Atlanta 2026. For the same reason, BetBoom Team and BC.Game will also not appear in Astana, having opted for the ESL-hosted tournament instead.
