Counter-Strike 2 has officially secured its status as the leading discipline on streaming platforms. According to data from the analytical service Esports Charts, viewers spent a total of 372.65 million hours watching CS2 broadcasts over the past year of 2025.
CS2 outpaces competitors in reach
Despite stiff competition from Riot Games and Valve (Dota 2), the shooter managed to pull ahead in total watch time. In this metric, CS2 left behind giants such as:
- League of Legends
- Dota 2
- Valorant
This confirms that the Counter-Strike tournament ecosystem generates the most stable and long-term interest among the audience throughout the entire year.
Peak Viewership: LoL maintains its lead
While CS2 dominates in the overall standings, League of Legends remains the leader in terms of a single viewership spike. In 2025, Riot Games' MOBA gathered 1.66 million concurrent viewers.
The top three by peak online viewership are as follows:
- League of Legends - 1.66 million viewers.
- Dota 2 - 1.23 million viewers.
- CS2 - 1.14 million viewers.

Recognition of the Year: Esports Awards
It is worth noting that the expert community evaluates disciplines differently. At the Esports Awards 2025 in November, League of Legends was recognized as the "Best Esports Game of the Year." As a reminder, this same title previously received the status of the best discipline of the decade.
Nevertheless, the viewership numbers for CS2 on Twitch prove that Valve's shooter remains the most sought-after content among casual gamers and esports fans worldwide.
