The FACEIT platform has prepared a major update for the start of the eighth season, which kicks off on April 22nd. For the first time in history, the community will directly decide which map will complete the matchmaking map pool.

How the Map Pool System Will Change

Starting next season, the pool expands to 8 maps. The newcomer will be a full-fledged participant in the system: playing on it will award or deduct ELO, and the pick-and-ban process will remain standard. An important note for traditionalists: the map can be excluded from your search (available for both Free and Premium users), so it will not be mandatory.

Who is on the Final List?

Based on the preferences of the top 1,000 players by Elo, three candidates have made it to the final vote:

  • Cache – A legend that fans have been waiting years for;
  • Train – A classic of tactical Counter-Strike;
  • Vertigo – For those accustomed to the current meta.

Deadline: You can make your choice until April 15th (17:00 CEST). The return of Cache or Train could radically shake up the meta at high ranks.
