Legendary Counter-Strike co-creator Minh "Gooseman" Le has officially confirmed his involvement in the launch of the $GOOSE memecoin. Despite community fears regarding a potential hack of the developer's X (Twitter) account, Le personally verified the authenticity of his posts in a video interview with Dust2.us.
Why did the CS creator agree to a crypto project?
The story began when a user nicknamed Momo suggested an unusual way to "compensate" Gooseman for his historical contribution to the industry. According to the idea's author, Valve did not reward the creator of the world's most popular shooter generously enough at the time. The solution was the launch of a namesake token intended to support the developer financially.
Minh Le agreed to the proposal but set strict conditions:
- He does not personally own any coins and does not manage the project.
- The developer does not plan to turn his social media into an advertising platform.
- The project must not interfere with his primary work.
Where the money goes: Supporting the development of Alpha Response
Nevertheless, Gooseman admitted that he has already received "significant" financial support from the token's creators. Minh plans to direct these funds toward the development of his new project — the tactical shooter Alpha Response. Thus, purchasing the memecoin has effectively turned into a form of crowdfunding for a new game from the CS legend.
Risks and Market Cap: Minh Le’s take on speculation
Le views the hype surrounding memecoins philosophically, comparing crypto to the CS skin market or stock trading. According to him, it is simply another form of speculation where every investor must take personal responsibility.
As of now, the $GOOSE market capitalization has settled at $477,000. Despite official confirmation from the author, some in the community still fear a classic "rug pull" (a scenario where creators disappear with investors' money), as Minh Le himself is not responsible for the technical side of the coin.
